3 Simple Things to Do, When Feel Restless

I have heard many times from meaningful and relevant friends who were trying to help me manage the pressures and challenges of being an entrepreneur. I will always try to convince them that even if I think I can afford to stay away from business for a few days, the holidays really didn’t help. In fact, I literally didn’t know how to relax.

Fear of failure staked me out whether I was in the office or on the beach. At least in the office I felt like I had an agency. At the very least, I was working towards a goal of figuring out how to turn the business around. There was a movement and activity that might result in overcoming the challenges of the day.

The data shows us that silence, calm, relaxation and recovery are just as important for the brain as they are for the body. Are Olympic athletes train 30-40 hours a week, which is enough to compare you to that time unless you compare that time to work. It is not as if players only train during banker’s hours because they are not committed to much work. The fact is that rest and recovery are just as important as any type of training, and ignoring them reduces the return and increases the risk of injury.

1. Go on a walk

Is this a terrible idea without your phone? As long as you are always in touch with the world, your mind wants to be busy with the problems of the world. Take a 30-minute walk with yourself or a loved one and leave your phone at home. Being out of time and out of communication in nature can have a wonderful effect on our brains. Increase the length of your walk because you will feel more relaxed than imagined.

2. Give your mind a break before and after sleep

How important it is for you to improve your sleep patterns and take advantage of this rest in your day. Start trying to extend the time between when you are awake and when you are busy with your phone or other devices. Do the same (including the TV) while trying to turn off these devices before going to bed. Allow your brain to sleep easily and stay out of it for better results during the day.

3. Try mindfulness meditation

Meditation has a medically proven ability to reduce anxiety and allow you to control your thoughts as much as possible. Head-space and Quiet are two apps that have daily meditation routines that can be extremely helpful.

These little habits, when practiced regularly, can have a tremendous effect on breaking the addiction of permanent action. Building these habits will help you relax and unwind and make your daily activities more efficient. Perhaps more importantly, when you finally take a vacation, being able to break your mind, you will really enjoy it.
